Tyler Kelly

Board Member

Hello all, my name is Tyler Kelly. I am an Avionics Technician with Duncan Aviation at the Wheeler downtown airport. I have had a passion for aviation ever since I was a boy, attending many Oshkosh Airventure airshows and listening to my father tell stories of his time aboard aircraft carriers in the navy, certifying auto-pilots in Poland or watching a F-22 Raptor do a fly by and the feeling you’d get as the sounds of the engines hit you so far after the plane was already gone in the distance, all these things sparked a lifelong fire of aviation deep within my heart.

My first step into the aviation world was attending Aviation Airframe and Powerplant School in St. Louis where I began working full time for AVAMATS Aviation as an apprentice technician, a year later I moved to Weststar Aviation in East Alton, Illinois where while working nights I finished my schooling and obtained my Airframe and Powerplant ratings and finished an associate’s degree in applied science. I remained there as a technician until my return home where I received a job with Duncan Aviation working as an avionics technician here at the downtown Kansas City Airport.
